Hello from Jaco, Costa Rica!

I have been here with part of H squad for almost a week now, and I have already tasted the fruit of God’s favor over this team and over the ministry we are serving. For those who don’t know, month one we are serving a ministry called Ocean’s Edge Ministry. Ocean’s Edge consists of loving and serving the community of Jaco with the goal of leading people to Jesus. I plan to write more about Ocean’s Edge as we continue to dive deeper into serving; however, as of right now, I just wanted you guys to know I am safe, well, and learning so much!

As of right now, life away from home has been good. Yes, goodbyes were hard, as to be expected, but I am excited for the work God has set before me and my team for month one!

And to be transparent, I don’t have many expectations this month other than having a heart open and willing to receive from the Lord. As the dust begins to settle and life as a missionary takes some acclamation, I just want my heart ready for the stretching and growth God has for me this year. As Paul says in Philippians 3, “I forget everything that is behind me and look forward to that which is ahead of me. My eyes are on the crown.”

This is the time for stretching, this is the time to walk in obedience. My eyes are fixed not of things of this world, but on the sacrifices to make Jesus known to a lost/broken world.

My palms are open, my arms stretched wide … ready, willing, and humbled to serve Jesus this year. Thy will be done for Kingdom come.

Love you all!
