The Lord is good in all of His ways. I have seen it in the past, I see it now, and I know I will see it in the future.

I am basking at month one’s goodness. In every glimpse, I see the hand of the Lord beginning to break the chains of bondage in Jaco. To many, this area is a broken beach town filled with poverty, legal prostitution, and drugs. It is the epitome of the consequences of sin. Every day and every night you see the same story on repeat praying that one day something will change. And as you walk down Pastor Diaz Avenue, the heaviness and weight of hopelessness, fills the air around you to the point of almost wanting to believe the lie that this is all Jaco will ever be known for. From the outside, it looks like a dead end story . Its outcome seems so blatantly obvious, and the thought of this being the popular perspective breaks my heart. There has been too much credit given to the enemy for all of the destruction he has created among these beautifully created people, and the war between light and darkness perceives to be forgotten. So many spirits have welcomed themselves into the dark corners of Jaco and triple locked their being of worthlessness, shame, and guilt to anything or anyone that gives them the opportunity. It’s an unfortunate depiction to portray, but that’s what is seen from the outside looking in… the same people falling to the same sin over and over again with a blinded outlook. The lies of “this is what your life will always be” or “if God truly loved you He would save you from this” have made their home with no intention to leave unless evicted. This story seems tragic.

But man, God literally is the Father of redemption. Like to think otherwise is such a shame because His names carry so much weight. Just read their power and bask in the fact that they are for US.. they are for Jaco.

  • El Shaddai (The Lord God Almighty: Genesis 17:1)
  • El Elyon (The Most High God: Daniel 4:17)
  • Jehovah Rapha (The Lord that heals: Jeremiah 30:17)
  • Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is there: Psalm 23:1-6)
  • Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord who sanctifies you: John 17:24)

These names are ready to bestow themselves on Jaco. The misfortune that has been brought does not deject this city from a miraculous ending. The beginning is just an instrumental piece to the love ending God has for the people of Jaco. I see it, H squad sees it, and Ocean’s Edge sees it. There is beauty in the horizon, there is hope, and there is God’s love at the end. I can’t tell you how it will look, but I will say it’s going to blow your mind.

This is the hope story for Jaco.

One response to “Hope on the Horizon”

  1. Only God can turn a MESS into a MESSAGE,
    a TEST into a TESTIMONY,
    a TRIAL into a TRIUMPH,
    a VICTIM into a VICTORY.
Keep being the light and plant the seeds and God will be the harvester. Praying for you and the whole team.
